    The Organization of Turkic States (OTS), previously known as the Turkic Council or the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States. It consists of leading Turkic countries Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. As an intergovernmental organization with aim of promoting cooperation among the Turkic speaking countries. It was first proposed by the Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2006. It was later founded on 3 October 2009 with General Secretariat in Istanbul, Türkiye.
